Niko Ryhänen, AKA Kaino is an artist and producer from Helsinki, Finland. Kaino is a member of the original Aphilas duo with his fellow Huminakirjuri. After their musical paths separated in the mid 00’s Kaino has been producing music as an solo artist.
In the past Kaino has released 12″ vinyl with US Label M3rck (Aphilas – Instrumentally Ill EP) and later 12″ (Kaino – Where’s th One EP) with Finnish label Nine2Five Recordings.
Kaino’s influences come mostly from 60’s – 70’s soul, jazz and funk, mid 90’s hip hop and 00’s electronic music.
Partly because of these versatile influences Kaino has always knocked the boundaries of different music genres. He feels that his tracks are his diary and he wants to maintain his musical freedom without any deadlines or pressure.
